SHELTER NEWS
We want to make mention of some special people helping us and the animals here at the Carteret County Humane Society:

  • Thank you Adrianne Forbes and your Husband Michael for your time and efforts. They have volunteered many hours, brought in many new donators and assisted with rescue groups and foster.
  • Thank you Bill Gietz, Adrianne's father, for your time and donations. He built an exercise pen for our dogs as well as helped with general repairs of the facility.
  • Morehead City NC Independent Animal Rescue and Adoption is a group of independents that provide rescue, vetting and adoptions for dogs and cats in Eastern North Carolina, Crystal Coast Region.
  • Thank you Martin MacFarlane for your dedication and contributions to our shelter every year. He has helped keep us going and make needed repairs to our facility as well.
  • Thank you to Julie Tiso for your dedication and donations to our shelter. She has helped us out with more than just donations, she has also began fostering for a local rescue group and has pulled many dogs out to foster!
  • Roma & Edith Wade Thank you so much for your undying love and support for the animals and the staff here! We love you guys!
  • Dr. Walter Westbrook Thank you so much for all your help with our "Special Needs" cases. We can not say Thank you enough!
  • BIG Thank you to Dr. Susan Lloyd, DVM and the WONDERFUL staff at Live Oak Veterinary Hospital. Not only have they held a donation run at the office for all of August but they have also decided to spay/ neuter as many shelter pets as they can. So far we have already had about 15 cats Spay/ Neutered, Rabies Vaccine given as well as a Feline Aids, Leukenia and Heartworm test. So far one has been adopted, one is Heartworm positive and one is positive for feline Leukemia/ AIDS. The staff has worked so hard to help us and we just want to let them know how much we appriciate the new relationship between us.
  • And last but by no means least, A BIG THANK YOU to the wonderful staff at Crystal Coast Technologies, Inc. for donating the best website possible! You guys ROCK!
