Sam : I promised to keep several of the staff informed about Sam when I adopted him a few months ago. Thank you so much for pointing him out to me...because he has been awesome! Everyone compliments how good he is, including the vet. He is so sweet and loving, as you know, and is very obedient. The vet was amazed. He now has a big back yard to run and play in with a fanned porch of his own, but he mostly stays inside...I\'m beginning to think he is too spoiled. He sleeps with, or should I say, on, mommy and daddy, has too many toys, and loves popsicles. He has learned several new tricks and is always eager to perform. Oh, and he has two girlfriends, Maggie and Dixie, at my friend\'s. His coat is getting healthier and thicker, but I do brush him every chance I get. He has been such a wonderful dog and a friend. I couldn\'t have asked for a better one! I\'m sure he sends his love. I\'ve included some pics of him with his new dad, aunt, and um, I guess cousin. Thanks you guys! |

Tazzie : Well it has been 4 months since I took Tazzie home and I thought I would let everyone know how it is going. It was challenging for the first few weeks, she is a shy dog when it comes to strangers and I remember thinking I would never warm up to this dog. Just the opposite has occurred. Tazzie is a JOY to have. She has made friends with every cat and dog in the neighborhood and has won the heart of my best neighbor whose granddaughter Jessica used to work with you and she still runs to her when ever she is visiting her family. Tazzie is a very well behaved dog and I love her so much. I have had to put down a sick dog in Feb. and a terminally ill cat in Sept. of this year and Taz has helped me heal through that.
So there is a happy ending to this story and Taz will be with me until one of us leaves this Earth. Thank you so much for not putting her down when I know you have to make some tough choices in that area of your work and God bless you because I could not do the work that all of you do.
Thanks from Tazzie and Teresa |

Update story from past adoption! : This is an email we received from Melodie Hall and Lucky Jake. Thank you so much for letting us know how life has been since leaving here!
My name is Lucky Jake and I was adopted from you in December of 2007. My new mommy and daddy took me home to where I had a brother (he is a poodle also) and a sister (she is a cat). I have Lyme\'s disease, but all is okay with that and I get treated like a king .. As you can see I am in my favorite chair with my favorite food, pizza crust. I want to thank you for taking care of me and getting me together with my new mommy. |

Eeyore : Eeyore was a stray and had followed a jogger home one morning but the wife was allergic to dogs. She fell in love with his sweet demeanor and called us for help. We had her bring Eeyore in and that is when he got his name. He walked in so sad, head down and no pep to his step. The lady who found him didn\'t want anything bad to happen, so we made arrangements for Eeyore to see the vet. She was willing to pay for the visit, the heartworm and Lyme disease test and possibly the neuter charges. We had him checked out, Eeyore was heartworm negative! but was positive for Lyme disease. This was actually ok with us because we knew that with some pills and a lot of love, he would be ready to go.
We decided to use our volunteer time to have him neutered and his guardian angel paid for the treatment! Eeyore was on his way! We spoke with a local rescue group and with the joint efforts, Eeyore was adopted from us by rescue. They fostered him and watched his new personality unfold! He has since been adopted to a furrever home and I hear is doing great! |
